WE WANT FUNCTIONAL FASHION
Both tech giant BOSE and artist/designer Maggi Simpkins heard this loud and clear, forming a partnership that emphasises the boundless advantages of fusing technology with fashion. A demand for functional fashion is on the rise, with the global market expected to reach $477.1B by 2027. Citizens don’t just want an item with visual appeal, they want something useful, something to assist in the day to day.
Is this latest collaboration the start of a new wave?
At the Billboard Women in Music Awards, a pair of Bose Ultra Open Earbuds were sported by musician and actress Kenzie Ziegler. Functionality in disguise, these earbuds are easily mistaken for a pair of diamond ear cuffs. Crafted with a solid gold plate and an intricately designed set of diamond clusters, these earbuds are a must-have statement. This design masters a divine balance between the convenience and novelty of earbuds and personal style and aesthetic. Los Angeles based artist and jewellery designer Maggi Simpkins, designed the earbuds for Kenzie Ziegler as a custom piece to be worn on the red carpet.

A collaboration of this likeness opens the floodgate for a new era of design that breaks conventional rules of styling, broadening the horizon for global style lovers.
How many other items can be altered to a state of high-end wearability? The possibilities are truly endless.
