About The Immersive Kind

The Immersive Kind is recognized as a trailblazer in XR. Can you share the insights that led you to establish a multi-faceted art and technology collective, bridging the gap between diverse disciplines like architecture, AI engineering, and neuroscience?

The vision behind establishing The Immersive Kind stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries of XR, AI, digital fashion, avatars, digital art and foster new ways of thinking about how we can experience art, fashion and music in the future. Recognizing the transformative potential at the intersection of art and technology, I aimed to create a collective that seamlessly blends diverse disciplines—architecture, AI engineering, and neuroscience. The goal is to redefine immersive experiences, fostering innovation and collaboration across traditionally distinct fields. This multidisciplinary approach allows us to craft unique narratives that resonate in the dynamic landscape of XR.

The Immersive Kind aims to inspire 21st-century approaches to the digitalization of society. How do you see the collective contributing to this digital revolution, and what transformative journey does it envision for individuals and communities?

The insights that led to establishing The Immersive Kind stemmed from recognizing the transformative potential at the intersection of art and technology. We sought to bridge gaps between disciplines like architecture, digital fashion, artificial intelligence, VR, AR, and the metaverse or next iteration of the internet, creating a multi-faceted collective focused on pushing the boundaries of digital fashion, cyberspaces and the virtual world. I also wanted to use my industry insight and expertise having worked as a producer on early digital fashion projects including the Dune Movie talking the costumes from the movie on to ready player me avatars, Pokemon x Selfridges x Charli Cohen and DIESEL and Legacy of Tomorrow 

The Immersive Kind boasts a multidisciplinary team. How do you foster collaboration among architects, artists, technologists, and scientists, and how has this diversity contributed to the essence of The Immersive Kind?

Collaboration among AI architects, artists, 3d fashion designers, creative technologists, and scientists is integral. We foster an environment that encourages diverse perspectives, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration. This diversity enhances the essence of The Immersive Kind, bringing together unique skills and insights along with opportunities for creative explorations with many of the world’s leading artists and creative.

Could you shed light on how you connected with Tanushri Roy, and what prompted the collaboration? What role does collaboration play in the creative process at The Immersive Kind?

The collaboration with Tanushri Roy was a result of shared passion and a mutual desire to push creative boundaries. The connection was sparked by a recognition of complementary visions, emphasizing the significance of collaboration in our creative process. We loved Tanushri’s work and when the opportunity came about to create together we jumped at it. We are thrilled with the MELT collection and think its visually really stylish and sumptuous. The images are made with ai and we spent a lot of time thinking about the desired images and storytelling, exploring new narratives around avatars and how we can experience and experiment with new tools like dallie and mid journey. 

As a visionary leader, what responsibilities do you see for yourself in steering The Immersive Kind towards groundbreaking and mind-bending creative endeavours?

We just love creating and making things happen along with always being curious and wanting to play and experiment with the latest technology. at The Immersive Kind we want to keep pushing towards groundbreaking and mind-bending creative endeavors always moving forward, never repeating ever evolving and keeping it fresh. 

With “Loving the Ai Shoot—MELT,” The Immersive Kind ventures into the realm of web3 beauty. What prompted this exploration, and how does it align with the overarching mission of the collective?

“Loving the Ai Shoot—MELT” represents our exploration into web3 beauty. This venture aligns with our mission by embracing innovative technologies and pushing the boundaries of creativity in the digital realm. We want to push the boundaries of what’s possible with virtual try on and digital make up and virtual hair. I wanted to produce a collection of OFF WORLD Aileen characters wearing digital makeup and jewellery and uncovering a new aesthetic and story around avatars and virtual personas dressing up for life on other planets, going to the warehouse party on MARS.   

In collaborative projects like “Loving the AI Shoot,” what responsibilities do you find yourself taking on, and how does your collaboration with Kadine James influence the final creative outcome?

In collaborative projects like “Loving the AI Shoot,” my role involves providing creative direction, Art directing, styling, conceptualizing and fostering a collaborative spirit, and ensuring that the diverse skills within the team contribute synergistically to the final creative outcome. I loved producing this collection with Tanushri Roy and I am really excited for what we do next.

The Immersive Kind played a crucial role in shaping the visual narrative of “Loving the AI Shoot.” Which we brought to life together. This collaboration enhanced the thought-provoking and visionary aspects of the editorial by combining artistic expression with cutting-edge technology.

Creative Process in “MELT”: Tanushri, as the AI beauty artist behind “MELT,” could you walk us through your creative process in bringing AI face wearables to life in this groundbreaking collection?

Collaboration with Kadine James and The Immersive Kind, AI’s Influence on Artistic Process and Fashion Design: My collaboration with Kadine James has been remarkable, deeply influencing the project’s outcome. Her vision in pushing the realms of creativity has been a key factor in our collaboration. AI serves as a co-creator in my process, offering a rich array of ideas and influences. It aids in expanding my creative boundaries, often leading to unexpected outcomes that offer new perspectives. 

Challenges and Breakthroughs in Integrating AI, Contribution to Unique Aesthetics: Mastering AI to align with my artistic vision presented initial challenges. Despite its advancements, it sometimes falls short of my expectations. My creative experience, combined with prompt engineering skills, helps bridge this gap. Future of Human-Artist and AI Collaboration, Impact on Creative Industry: I’m optimistic about the synergy between human artists and AI. Embracing AI as a collaborative force can transform our creative methodologies. This partnership extends beyond efficiency; it introduces innovative ways of creating, pushing artistic boundaries and inviting novel exploration. AI’s role in democratizing art and design is pivotal. It empowers a wide range of individuals to express their creativity, fostering a diverse and vibrant creators’ economy.
