An Interview with Tony Vicente CD of Rossario George

Rossario George, is a luxe tailoring brand, that has been developing since 2016 under the creative vision of Tony Vincente, an artist spun designer. GLITCH invited Tony to share his design story and analysis of the industry ahead. Vincente explores how relating to consumer values and being attune to your audience is innate to fashion success, but also tells us of the power he sees in a seamless integration between high end fashion and beauty.

What is your earliest memory of fashion? How did design first have an imprint on your life? 

The first encounter with fashion that truly left a mark on me was probably stepping into the Versace store in New York city as a teenager. It was a transformative experience—one filled with pride at being able to afford such luxury at a young age, and awe at the store’s stunning beauty and the artistry of its garments. 

Each piece from Versace seemed to me a timeless work of art, reinforcing my appreciation for the finer things in life and the critical importance of quality. This profound early interaction with luxury definitely shapes the way I approach our clients at Rossario George, where we bring the same level of artistry and excellence to every piece we offer.

Who, or what is your biggest fashion inspiration? 

Whether it’s a groundbreaking album like Roisin Murphy’s “Hit Parade”, the vibrant hues of spring’s first blossoms, or the disillusionment of realizing someone you admired isn’t who you thought they were, each experience—both uplifting and challenging—drives me to create. 

Every moment, good or bad, fuels my passion to craft something beautiful and share it with the world.

How was Rossario George born? 

My journey began with an invitation to design for ShopVida, where I quickly emerged as a top seller. This success ignited my passion to launch my own brand. Six years later, we remain a formidable force in the luxury fashion and beauty markets, continuously shaping and elevating the industry.

How can a fashion brand remain culturally relevant today?

To drive growth, you need to deeply understand your audience’s demographics, values, and preferences, and ensure your products and marketing reflect a diverse range of cultures, body types, and identities. The more insight you gain, the more your company will thrive.

How do you balance artistry, practicality, and entrepreneurship? 

I take immense pride in how Rossario George pushes the boundaries of fashion with cutting-edge designs and artistic flair. Our brand stands out with unique fabrics, intricate details like our signature honeycomb pattern, and bold, avant-garde silhouettes. 

We’re equally dedicated to crafting a powerful brand identity through innovative marketing and strategic positioning, ensuring that Rossario George makes a lasting impact.

What is your take on the synergy between the fashion and beauty industries?

 At Rossario George, every seasonal launch is meticulously planned as a cohesive whole. Our signature approach includes launching new beauty products alongside each clothing collection. For this year’s “Honey” ready-to-wear line, we unveiled a limited edition “Honey” eyeshadow palette and gold bronzer. 

My goal is to create a seamlessly interconnected experience where fashion and beauty complement each other, driving mutual promotion and elevating consumer engagement

What experience or encounter in your fashion career has had the most lasting impression on you? 

The rapid growth and evolution of our brand stands out as the greatest achievement. In just 6 years, Rossario George has been featured in over 200 publications, asked to showcase our collections at fashion weeks around the world, built a stellar reputation, nominated for the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star award, and hosted sold-out shows.  I’m incredibly proud of our journey and eagerly anticipate what the next 6 years will bring for Rossario George.

Are you excited or apprehensive for the future of fashion? 

I’m truly excited about the future. Fashion is a powerful means of creativity and self-expression, offering clients timeless beauty that they can cherish for years. I’m committed to being a positive force in the industry, rising above negativity and gossip, and concentrating on what makes fashion truly special.

How do you intend to disrupt the industry? 

With our 2023 brand refresh, we’ve transformed from a fashion line into a pioneering travel fashion brand. Our goal is to deliver fashion-forward ready-to-wear, couture, and beauty products that are ethically made and sustainable. We’re fearless in experimenting and pushing creative boundaries, setting new trends and inspiring innovation across the fashion and beauty industries.

What is the future for Rossario George?

 In 10 years, we envision Rossario George as a trailblazer in fashion and beauty, revolutionizing the industry with unprecedented innovation. We aim to become a renowned and cherished luxury brand, with a significant presence through a network of exclusive retail stores.
