‘The Black Silhouette’ is a series inspired by the captivating and striking work of Thierry Le Gouès. For this shoot Satori focused on contrast. Dark and light. Black and white. She shot between both mediums of digital and film photography in order to capture her images. Satori used high contrast continuous lighting to accentuate and illuminate the glossy, beautiful black skin. Movement and posing was an integral part of telling the story in this shoot, by pairing her Thierry Le Goues inspired photos, satori leaves the narrative down to the interpretation of the viewer. Often pairing photos she describes as ‘highs and lows’ to mimic the emotions within life. Within the styling, Satori wanted to focus on Jewelry as the main fashion element to not take away from the beauty of the model.
